System Tester for Train IT

Have you ever wondered why, while traveling on a high-speed train like the German ICE or the Prague metro, your mobile connection sometimes works and other times the internet disappears? Have you observed the digital signs in the train with information about the next station?

Modern trains are loaded with information technology: they use IP networks, digital cameras, wireless access points, video streaming, public announcement systems, passenger counting systems, and much more.

We are the Siemens Mobility Train IT team, and we are developing new IT platforms for modern trains. Join us and help us create the railway vehicles of the future!

Main responsibilities:

• Manual (end-to-end) testing of IT systems on trains
• Maintenance and updates of testing infrastructure based on Python and Linux
• Gathering test results and creating reports
• Management of testing equipment
• Close collaboration with other teams in an international environment

Key qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in HW/SW testing
• Have a degree in electrical engineering or possess the capability to operate electrical equipment – minimum requirement is Regulation 50/78 §5
• Experience with Linux
• Proficient in English
• Problem-solving skills with an emphasis on quality
• Strong communication skills, analytical and systematic thinking
• Willingness to travel for short periods
