Category Manager - Brakes

Siemens Mobility is a separately managed company of Siemens AG and has been a leading supplier in the field of mobility for over 160 years. Our core business consists of rail vehicles, infrastructure, rail automation, electrification solutions and related services.

At the moment, we are seeking a highly organized and proactive Category Manager Brakes to join our Rolling Stock Procurement team which supplements the segment oriented demands and thereby generates the greatest possible added value for our business.

How will your team look like?

You will maintain close collaboration with the German headquarters and international suppliers, ensuring strategic alignment across the category. You will report to the group lead Electro-Mechanical Systems. The primary objectives are maximizing material cost savings, guaranteeing efficient procurement processes, and strengthening the strategic purchasing position. In Prague, you will be part of a small newly created team. Your team will consist of project management specialists who work on various offers and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement global and local procurement strategies for the brakes category
• Consolidate regional and supra-regional demands to optimize purchasing power
• Conduct effective negotiations with suppliers and realize significant cost savings
• Make well-founded sourcing decisions taking the total costs into account
• Analyze the cost structures of the brakes material in detail, identify optimization potential, create precise cost calculations as well as comparisons of supplier offers
• Drive continuous improvements in quality, cost, delivery, service and technology

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable field
• Fluent in English, German is an advantage
• Experience in strategic purchasing in an industrial environment
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proven track record of working on topics of strategic procurement, supplier management, and quality assurance
